FLOAT EXPERIENCE

Beercan Lake(little Campbell lake)

Beercan is the local name I think the tourist center renamed it.

To get to Beercan you drive to four corners(Jewel Lake Road and Raspberry Road). Head west to Kinkade Park. Turn Right to “Little Campbell Lake”. Beercan is totally surrounded by park land. The fishing is good but the fish are small. In the 8 to 13 inch range. Most people that fish this lake use salmon eggs from the bank or dock. I very the fly I use throughout the year. This is the lake where I learned an interesting technique. Sometimes when I look at a lake I see small riffles that I thought were the result of a strong gust of wind. One day while I was fishing at the south end of Beercan I saw those riffles just a few feet away. Their was no wind. After a moments thought I decided that what I saw was little fish fleeing a larger fish. I looked through my flies for a shinny one and waited. When the riffles re-emerged I cast in the middle and caught a fish about 18 inches long. This technique is sweet.
