FLOAT EXPERIENCE

ALASKA FLY FISHING

Fish won't see you coming in a float tube.

Get your own tube for better fishing.

White River Fly Shop Lost Lake Float Tube

When I start something new and the time comes to buy equipment I assess my interest. If I'm serious and want to be an expert I do the research and buy the best equipment I can find. If I just want to do, "do able" then I get the cheapest equipment their is the range in between. There are float tubes that cost around $50.00. They are a good way to start float tubing. If you are not planning to spend that much time in the water. The construction of the Lost Lake Float Tube, by the White River Fly Shops, is excellent. The tube pushes more water than the more expensive tubes. If your not trying to cover a lot of water you won't notice the difference.

Trout Unlimited - Kennebec Float Tube The Kennebec sets higher in the water. costs about 160.00 and the design allows the water to flow through the tube making it easier to move across the water. Unfortunately the wind hits it better. If you don't get a lot of wind you'll find this the best buy.

Fish Cat 4 Float Tube

The fish cat cuts through the water well, is a slightly lower wind profile and costs the same as the Kennebec. The biggest advantage is the area in the back of the seat. With the netting that fits across the space you can just put the fish behind you and they stay in good condition. I met one fisherman that used it as a live well.
